Meet The Havenscourt Neighborhood Association Board Members

A request for Havenscourt Neighborhood Association (HNA) board members went out during the June 6th HNA Zoom meeting and also on the Nextdoor App. The below community members volunteered, unopposed and are now our board members. Each member’s term will expire on 6/19/2021 where new board members can be voted in or installed, if unopposed.

I have lived in Oakland for 22 years and in Havenscourt for the last 3. I have met many of the Havenscourt long time neighbors who have told me stories of how beautiful Havenscourt was when they were growing up and I want to be a part of making it beautiful and safe again. I want to see my neighbors supporting each other in problem solving, beautification, safety, and government issues. I look forward to working with you all.

  • Organize and facilitate meetings
  • Delegate tasks
  • Prepare agenda
  • Seek out and listen to all opinions
  • Organize community events
  • Assist with long-range planning
  • Interface with 30X neighborhood crime prevention council regarding common goals
  • Interface with public officials for information and goal completion
  • Know bylaws and parliamentary procedures
  • Represent HNA at meetings and events

I’ve never been part of a neighborhood association, but I know I want to do more for my neighborhood which I’ve been a part of for over 5 years. My background is in marketing, design, and public outreach and I think my skills can help make Havenscourt a more connected, action-forward neighborhood that we can all be proud to be a part of.

  • Keep updated list of officers and members
  • Manager the handling of information received by HNA
  • Manage contact list / keep contact information private
  • Take notes and publish meeting highlights
  • Email relevant information and meeting reminders

I am a CPA by trade and have been active in several non-profit and volunteer capacities. I am ready to jump in and provide assistance where needed. My day job is working for the state helping to keep Californians safe from “bad” accountants. On Thursdays I am a volunteer scuba diver at the Aquarium of the Bay. In the past I was an active member and board member of organizations such as the Venice (California) Neighborhood Council, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, CalCPA and an arts organization located in Southern California.
